In my preschool classroom, I have one on one time with each student where I help them do worksheets. During that time, the rest of the class plays in centers around the room. The student I’m working with will often get distracted by everything else going on. Their worksheet is their current and most important assignment but sometimes their focus shifts to other things. So I remind them “focus on what is in front of you.” In this season, I’m learning this. Learning how to concern myself with the things right in front of me. How to keep showing up and how to put my focus on what God has for me right now. Focusing on what He has entrusted me with and placed in my hands. I’m learning how to tune my mind away from the past, the future, from worthless things around me- to lay down everything and focus on my current assignments.
Focus doesn’t make painful/ difficult things go away but it’s a tool we can use to redirect our eyes to what really matters. The key is to be fully present- to not look back, not look forward, and not look around. To have tunnel vision on the now. To take every thought captive. This is an every day, conscious and active process.
So here’s to a new season of learning how to focus on what is in front of me and letting the rest fade away. (This picture is from when my foot was broken and I threw my boot out of the frame 🙃) #sea #instacool #goodmorning #iphoneonly #blog #blogger #youtuber #blogging
